Practical information
A 2-year (M1 and M2) ParisTech curriculum taught by Arts et Métiers ParisTech, Chimie ParisTech, ENSTA ParisTech, ESPCI ParisTech, Institut d'Optique Graduate School, MINES ParisTech, Télécom ParisTech, in association with University Paris Descartes (Science and Medicine Faculty).
Objectives
Bioengineering is blazing trails in biology and medicine today.
This course involves intensive interactions between several medical, biomedical and engineering disciplines, spanning chemistry, physics, mechanics, biology and mathematics, and their applications. It is open to students from a wide variety of academic backgrounds, encapsulates a multidisciplinary institutional approach, and aims to spark new research and cooperation in this area. The Master program is based on a large network of excellence of research and academic laboratories in medicine-biology-chemistry (Paris Descartes) and engineering (ParisTech). All courses are taught in english and are located in Paris.
Contents
Students spend their first year (M1) cementing their engineering or biomedical scientific expertise then pre-specialise in one of the five second-year (M2) fields and take a four-month internship (possibly abroad).
Second-year (M2) programmes
- Bioimaging (BIM)
- Biomechanics and Biomaterials (BM²)
- Molecular and cellular biotherapy (TMC)
- Systemic and synthetic, information and interaction (S2I2)
- BioMedical Engineering and Innovation in Neurosciences.
M2 also includes seminars, conferences and specialist input, and ends with a 6-month practical internship in a lab.
